How Moms Can Move from Stuck to Action

The first person you want to understand completely is you.
Your habits, your emotions, your will, your patterns, your pressure points, your triggers, your moods, your propensities… all that makes you you. This notion of understanding oneself sounds so simplistic that you can miss it if you’re not careful.
Women take on so much and do so many things out of habit that we often find ourselves overwhelmed and wondering how we got there. We’re masters at taking care of everyone but ourselves. It’s usually only after burn-out that we pause long enough to even realize we are tired, let alone disconnected from our core. But this connection is vital to your growth and to your effectiveness.
It is only when you get still and spend time with yourself that you learn yourself—your likes, your dislikes, your wants, your desires, your essence. Alone time allows you space to get centered, rejuvenated and connected so that when you are in your place of business or serving the community, you can be the best version of you.
How miserable an existence it would be if you always gave of yourself to others but never refueled and gave to yourself first.
Can you imagine life void of self-exploration, self-love and relaxation? Sure you can. You’ve met her at the supermarket. You’ve seen her at the bank and you’ve even looked at her in the mirror a time or two, I bet.
If you are reading this article and your head is nodding to some of the descriptors of a disconnected woman, don’t worry.
The first step is awareness.
E.E. Cummings said, “It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” Think about that for a moment. Now that the spot light is shining brightly on you, will you seep into the shadows or will you rise to the occasion and finally play the leading role in your life?
If you just answered, “yes,” begin to speak positive affirmations over your life.
“I am powerful”
“I am balanced and centered”
“I attract wealth”
“I am in perfect health”
“I give and receive love into my life”
Create your own affirmations and feel the words, connect with them, say them out loud! See it, feel it, even taste it! Your words have power and you will attract what you release. Are you tired of repeating the same old patterns from the past, continually sabotaging your future? Do you want to break out of the life you are in now to a new wonderful life where you achieve and experience the life you want?
Mahatma Gandhi said, “Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even it I may not have it at the beginning.”
So, how do you rid yourself of disbelief? Through action!
Everybody wants to be rich. Others want fame. Most want nice bodies and a clean bill of health. Wants and desires are normal but it is not enough to simply want it.
You have to show up… daily.
Showing up in your life takes action, the key ingredient in moving from blah to fierce.
What are some of the immediate action steps a woman should take to move from a place of stagnation to a place of dominance in her domain?
I’m glad you asked. Consider these steps for starters:
• Dispel the myths.
• Write down your goals and plans
• Clean up your personal image.
• Clean up your image online.
• Have your own money.
• Respond. Never react.
• Upgrade your circle.
• Shun jealousy and competition.
• Take care of you first, then home, then business.
