WHO IS SHE? – Diana Richardson-Phillipus

Diana Richardson-Phillipus is a dynamic speaker, entrepreneur and author who takes her expertise in business and women’s empowerment to empower other women to use their own gifts to achieve their greatest success. She is the founder of Empowered Women Empower and Bronzed GLO Beauty. Let’s meet her…

How would you describe your childhood?

I would describe my upbringing as one that had many different elements. I was raised in an extremely strict household, where education was particularly important. Both my sisters and I were raised in a one-parent household with our mother. We defiantly had our share of struggles coming up.

Thank God we don’t look like what we’ve been through. What has Diana been through that led to her wanting to empower others?

I have always had a fire in my belly about women’s empowerment. I would have to say that it all started with me and always feeling like I didn’t quite fit in. It was during these times that I wish I would have had a community to lean in on to offer empowerment and connection. Once I became empowered with knowledge it was a very natural instinct for me to want to give back and create an atmosphere for other women.

What was your original goal or mission of Empowered Women Empower? Has it evolved?

Great question! Empowered Women Empower has always had a mission to curate space for women to learn, be inspired, connect and network. While we have certainly not deviated from this mission, I can say that as EWE continues to grow our impact grows. EWE desires to have a worldwide impact and we are well on our way!

How did you decide to add Bronzed GLO Beauty to your brand?

Bronzed GLO Beauty was my first business. BGB organic cosmetics is what pushed me to start Empowered Women Empower. It was after I had begun BGB and started my journey of getting the brand out to the public by hosting popup shops at some of the retail stores that I had recently entered. I had an overwhelming response from other women owned businesses that desired to come out and join me as well as obtain valuable resources and connections. I immediately began the journey of EWE not realizing that I was beginning an entire movement!

The knowledge shared in Transformation: Finding Greater Purpose with Self-Knowledge, came from years of trial and error, self-improvement, journaling my journey and finally realization of the keys successes that lead me to transform.

Tell us about your book, “Passion to Profit”.

Passion to Profit is all about taking your passion and building a sustainable business. I like to call it the blueprint because if you follow the guides as outlined one can live out their dreams! Passion to Profit is not a get rich quick guide I must add, it takes hard work, dedication, positive mindset, and an unrelentless can do attitude to achieve one’s desired outcome.

How do you consistently work on your own self-improvement and maintaining a mindset that empowers you?

Great question! I am an avid reader. I always make time to invest in myself in this way, by reading uplifting books, and books that cater stimulate my creative faculties. Affirmations is also something that I do every day, yes, I said every day! It is of the upmost importance that you affirm yourself with positivity each day and might I add several times a day. It is through these actions and leaning in on my higher being that keeps me in a constant state of positivity and empowerment.

There is a woman out there struggling with finding the inspiration to empower herself. What would you say to get her started?

I would tell her to seek first a community of like-minded women. I always say that “it takes a village” and it has been proven to be tried and true! You can’t do it alone, but the great news is that there are resources available. Join a community on Facebook such as the Empower Network community, immerse yourself in empowering reading materials, and workshops. And most importantly revisit your mindset! Focus on all things positive all the time because it all starts with your mind.
