This new 10 episode series from Netflix, all of which were directed by Spike Lee, is a direct take from the original movie of the same name -also a Spike Lee Joint.
Centered around lead character 20 -something Nola Darling, the series takes us through her daily life juggling her social circle, career and of course men. Three men to be exact. All different. Nola is a modern sexually liberated sister who is very clear on who she is and what she wants. Or is she?
The new Nola is played by actress DeWanda Wise, who Underground series fans may remember from her role there. The original Nola was played by Tracy Camilla in the 1986 movie release.
