WHO IS SHE? – DR. RACHEL TALTON

Dr. Rachel Talton, Founder & CEO

Dr. Talton left an executive role in 2002 after becoming a young widow, a challenge that compelled her to become an entrepreneur focused on exploring the emotional connection between consumer mindset and the bottom line. Her quest led her to Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management, where she received a Doctorate of Management in 2010, and now serves as Adjunct Professor of Marketing for the school.

Dr. Rachel has designed, managed and implemented hundreds of successful research studies and guided marketing and brand strategy processes for some of the world’s top brands. Dr. Talton, affectionately (and professionally) known as “Dr. Rachel,” has also been recognized by several organizations for her career achievements, including a finalist nod for the 2010 Northeast Ohio ATHENA® International Award. She has also received the 2010 NAWBO Top 10 Women Business Owners of Northeast Ohio Award, Crain’s Cleveland BusinessTop Forty under 40, and the 2007 “Most Influential Business Leaders in Northeast Ohio” of the Call & Post.

Additionally, she has received the Blue Key Oratory Award, Entrepreneur of the Year Award and is the recipient of the Minority Business of the Year award. She is often a featured success story in brand communications, most recently for Dell and Microsoft.

In addition to her many professional accolades, Dr. Rachel is widely respected for her philanthropic work and civic leadership. She has served on the board of directors for TeamNEO, CEOCG, the Cleveland Zoological Society – and currently serves on the Boards of Positively Cleveland, JumpStart, Inc. and Cuyahoga Community College Foundation.

Most importantly, Dr. Rachel answers the call when asked to speak on behalf of those in need. She is a passionate advocate for Northeast Ohio’s economic development – and has been involved in the renaissance of the region.

Dr. Rachel is a strong advocate for women and girls – taking on mentoring two young women per year in addition to her service in the Links, Inc. and her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. In her spare time (you heard that right), Dr. Rachel has dedicated countless hours to designing leading The Northeast Ohio Economic Inclusion Collective, a regional initiative to move the needle on minority and female business growth across the region.
