When Packages Take the Scenic Route

If you order online or ship products for your business you may run into the deal, collaboration or jacked up partnership I like to call it between Fedex and the Post Office. I have had it happen a few times and its beyond me what the benefits of shipping this way is (If you use it, please explain in the comments). Now while I will never understand how you collaborate on it costing more and taking longer but here goes the timeline on my current situation.

• Online order placed on May 19th. It was late in the evening/overnight?
• WOW! It ships same day! Great . Awesome. Oh it’s Fed-Ex. Bummer.

Ok this is where it get’s weird. The company I happened to order from was only an hour and a half away by car. Now if you have experiences this you know they always mention it starts with them and will be transferred to your local P.O for delivery. YIKES! Well when Fed-ex got it they then have to send it to a location 3 hrs and 49 minutes (according to MapQuest calculations)from my home in the opposite direction. OK now it’s 4 days later and it’s still on the other side of the state. The tracking says I could have it in two more days by end up day. Now I got free shipping due to a promotion but standard shipping on this product ( which I will be reviewing later) starts at 14.62. o_O Look, again if you ship often you know how the Post Office rates rank. You know they have flat rates also. I won’t know how big the packaging is until I get it but what I do know is they could have dropped it off at the Post Office themselves and it would have been here the next day. Just on regular first class mail. I just want my package. Like yesterday. But first I just want someone to tell me how this works….  I will keep you posted.   *Update: I received it on the estimated date. Literally.
