Brianna Clark pursues her passion for writing while balancing her legal skills.
At 62 years old my career has taken many paths and I have been privileged to have been able to do the many things that I have done. I have been a television news reporter and have worked for all of the major television networks, becoming the first woman of color on air at the CBS affiliate in Portland Oregon, KOIN in 1992.
After leaving television and fresh from a divorce, I attended the University of Washington School of Law with a 2-year-old and a four-year-old. I graduated on time and with honors. I have worked as an attorney for the past 22 years, with major corporations and celebrities and have also represented victims of domestic violence, women in poverty and children in need of assistance.
I get my greatest joy from mentoring young people, especially young career woman trying to balance children and husbands and career. I love to read and I love to write. I love being in my art-filled home and cooking for those that I love. I love giving to people.
The most courageous thing I have done recently was to walk away from a cushy legal job as Chief Litigator at a powerful law firm, to work as a freelance lawyer. I did this to pursue my dream of being a full-time writer. I have one book on Amazon. It is entitled, CRACKED, and it tells the story of how untreated childhood trauma leads to dire and unexpected consequences. I am currently editing my second novel entitled Kintusukuroi, which is the Japanese art of repairing porcelain with gold, meaning “more beautiful from having been broken.”
