Some stories aren’t written in ink but in fire—and Alisha Melvin, Esq. is one of them. A Texas-based attorney, licensed real estate broker, and visionary founder, Alisha’s life is proof that resilience paired with faith can create a legacy that stretches far beyond personal achievement. Born and raised in New Jersey, she grew up navigating the complex realities of life as a teen mother—an experience that might have written a lesser story for someone else. But Alisha describes her journey in three powerful words: grit, faith, and fire.
That fire carried her from courtrooms to closing tables, from rebuilding her own life to reimagining the systems that shape the lives of others. Today, she stands not only as a lawyer and broker but as an architect of access, determined to make law less intimidating, real estate more empowering, and opportunity more inclusive for women coming behind her.
When asked about the legacy she hopes to leave, her words embody the soul of her mission: “She rebuilt systems. She protected generations. She made faith fashionable, made law accessible, and made room for other women to rise. She didn’t just leave assets—she left wisdom.”
Alisha Melvin is not simply practicing law or brokering deals—she is rewriting the blueprint of what it means to rise, rebuild, and make room for others to do the same. Let’s meet her…
How did you get to where you are today -from your childhood in New Jersey to now as a lawyer? When you look back, what time period of your life do you consider the starting part of your journey and why?
I got here one fight at a time. From earning my GED as a teen mom to walking across the stage with a Juris Doctor, my journey has been anything but traditional—but that’s my superpower. I got here by trusting God, choosing purpose over pity, and showing up for the version of me I hadn’t met yet. Every job, every court case, every client, every closed deal—it’s all been bricks in the legacy I’m building. The real journey started the moment I found out I was pregnant as a teenager. That moment redefined my future. I could have folded—but instead, I found fire. That was the moment I learned to push through fear and start creating my own narrative.
What do you think sets you apart from others in your field and makes you stand out?
I’m not just a lawyer. I’m a legacy protector. I merge legal expertise, real estate savvy, and AI-powered innovation to serve families, entrepreneurs, and high-profile professionals with a boutique, bespoke touch. Most importantly, I show up as my full self—attorney, broker, mother, minister, and multi-million dollar producer—with heart, strategy, and conviction.
Tell us about a time you felt overwhelmed. How did you pivot over or around this hurdle?
When I was simultaneously closing real estate transactions, managing probate litigation, and preparing for a high-profile media interview on a fraud case I was handling, it felt like too much. But I reminded myself that I prayed for this pace. I turned overwhelm into overflow by leaning into systems, support, and surrender. And yes, I took a nap… and got back up.
How do you balance your professional career and personal/family life?
Balance is a myth—I curate harmony. I prioritize what matters most each season. Sometimes that’s court deadlines, sometimes it’s my son’s football game, and sometimes it’s silence with God. I create calendar blocks, protect my peace like a full-time job, and remind myself: I can do anything, but not everything.
What is one lesson you have learned along the way?
God doesn’t waste anything. Not your failures, not your detours, not your tears. Everything is seeded for something greater.
At the end of the day, what matters most to you at your core?
Impact with integrity. I want my clients, my family, and every woman watching to know that it’s possible to protect your purpose, grow your wealth, and still sleep peacefully at night. My core is faith-driven justice, wrapped in grace and grit.
What do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to read: She rebuilt systems. She protected generations. She made faith fashionable, made law accessible, and made room for other women to rise. She didn’t just leave assets—she left wisdom.
