Tell us how your career in education turned into a career in the beauty industry. What was missing that made you pivot?
I grew up in the salon. My older owned a hair salon in Maryland. Every week we spent hours at her salon with her. When I went away to college, I did hair to make money. After I graduating from college I taught middle school Algebra and realized that being in the school system was just not my passion. I enrolled in Cosmetology school and began my journey. I worked part time in the salon for years and then later transitioned to it being my full-time career. I was missing passion!! I was an excellent teacher but being in the school setting was just not me.

Pretty Please Artistry is a beauty brand. We service clients by providing hair and makeup services.
What type of coaching and consultant services to you offer to other professionals looking to grow their businesses?
Many entrepreneurs love what they do but lack the ability to connect the dots in their business. I help them with marketing plans, creating strategies to maximize the gifts they already possess and help give them the confidence to show up genuinely and authentically in their business. I do this all while helping them charge appropriately and create budgets to allow their business to thrive.
Did you have a mentor when you were entering the field?
Absolutely!! I wholeheartedly believe in mentorship.
What is a lesson you learned early on in entrepreneurship?
If you want to go fast go alone but if you want to go far travel together.
Tell us about home life and how you balance your career as well as the roles of wife and mother.
I am a wife and a mom of two children 7 and 10. Our life is busy. But I have learned to prioritize the things that are important and be ok with putting things on the back burner. I have freed myself of being a slave to time. I believe that when your motives are right, your heart is in the right place and your intentions are pure and genuine you will achieve all that your heart desires.
