Describe yourself in a few words.
I am a business owner and direct sales and I’m a live host on TikTok Monday through Friday. I love inspiring others to become their better self.
How were you introduced to Tiktok? How did your LIVE host journey begin?
I was introduced to TikTok as a live host by another creator, who encouraged me to go live. At first, I thought I was too old to do this, but as she kept talking, I made a decision to go live and my journey has been great. I have met some amazing people on TikTok I never thought I would be here.
How do you balance the influencer side of your life from real life, including family and career, etc.?
This can be difficult at times. I am single, and my children are adults. I am also working a full-time job and managing my direct selling business. It is important for me to plan my days. Monday through Friday I go live here on TikTok at 6:30 PM and my weekends. I work my business and spend time with my family.
What is a typical day for you as a LIVE host? Do you have a schedule where you know what you will be doing each day?
What I’m doing is using a journal called 100 Days of Believing Bigger. I decided to go through the journal with my community Monday through Friday at 6:30 PM Pacific standard time; each day we engage on the topics to become our better selves.

For me, connection means building a relationship, trust, engagement and network with each other. Connect by learning and inspiration.

Become my better self. I am an introvert and the thought that I am a live host is amazing to me. I do not allow fear to overcome me. I take one day at a time and I’m committed to being there for my community.
What goal did you reach that you are most proud of?
I have met some amazing people who have patronized my business in direct sales- they are now my customers. My goal was to work and I have to say I’ve succeeded and continued.
Tell us about any moments of fear, apprehension or doubt that you overcame.
As I mentioned before I am an introvert so I had to overcome fear and self-image. Self-image was something I really had to work on because I didn’t have confidence in myself, and I didn’t think that people would listen to me, but because I didn’t allow fear or my lack of confidence hold me back I continued and I’m grateful.
What are some of the downsides/cons?
The downside of being TikTok life host is when there is no one in the room to engage with you. That can be difficult at times because it’s like you’re just talking to your phone and no one to engage with. How I overcame that is to cover the numbers so I don’t see who’s in the room and I just talk.
How have you grown as a person since starting your journey and how has it benefited you at your core?
I’m confident in who I am and I know my purpose. I have grown as a person who has made a decision not to be afraid of anything.
What advice or motivation would you give to someone new on the platform who is looking to get off the sidelines and step their monetizing game up?
The advice that I would give to someone on this platform is to be yourself. Do not try to be someone that you’re not. We all have our own personalities and how we do things, don’t compare yourself to others. You have to believe in yourself.
What was your initial goal on the platform and how has it evolved to the present day?
my goal was to meet people to grow my direct selling business. And although there’s more work to be done because I’m fairly new as a live host, it takes time to build trust so that you can sell products to people you are engaging with.
Tell us about family life.
I am a mother of two adult sons and I have six grandchildren. Five granddaughters and one grandson. I raised my children as a single mom. I love my family. My mom is 81 years old, I’m grateful and blessed. I have one sister and my brother passed away at the age of 23 from sickle cell anemia.
What steps have you taken to build community beyond this platform and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I also have a YouTube channel that I am growing. It’s called Beauty and Lifestyle by Tammie. And I see myself as a creator on YouTube and TikTok.
If you had all the character spacing you wanted, what would your Tiktok bio say about you to show people who you are at your core?
My name is Tammie. I decided to become a content creator at the age of 60 during the pandemic. I have met some amazing people here on TikTok and on other social media websites. My goal is to retire doing the things I’m passionate about, which is creating content to inspire and teach others to do the same.
Tell us about any entrepreneurial endeavors that you would like to promote.
My skin care. I am passionate about mature women who are beginning to see the signs of aging. I love, teaching women of a mature age how to reduce the signs of aging.
After the recent shutdown drama, are you considering relocating to another platform?
Yes, I’ve already started on YouTube.
