Tell us about a time in your life that would have broken most women that you survived?
In May 2018, I faced the unimaginable pain of burying my one-year-old daughter. Then, in November 2021, I encountered another devastating loss when I had to say goodbye to my 15-year-old son. These experiences were heart-wrenching and would have shattered many, but I found the strength to endure through faith and resilience.
How did it change you?
These losses reshaped my perspective on life entirely. They underscored the significance of cherishing moments and creating lasting memories. Above all, these experiences taught me the vital reliance on God amidst grief, guiding me toward peace and unveiling strategies for healing.
Looking back, what accountability did you have to grow into in terms of your responsibility in creating the mess you were in?
Looking back on these challenges, I realized that the circumstances I faced weren’t within my control or creation. I understood that certain hardships aren’t the result of personal actions or mistakes. Instead, it was about navigating and finding strength in circumstances beyond my influence or responsibility.
Who was your support circle?
During those difficult times, my support circle comprised my husband, mother, and pastor. They stood by my side, providing unwavering love, understanding, and guidance through the darkest moments. Their presence and support were invaluable during those challenging times.
Have you healed?
Healing is a journey; for me, it’s an ongoing process. Time has been a gentle companion in this journey, aiding in the gradual healing of my heart. Each day brings new steps toward healing, but it’s a path that unfolds gradually, with moments of progress and reflection intertwined.
What was your lowest point?
The lowest point for me was right after the loss of my daughter, when I found myself plunged into a deep state of depression. It was a time of immense sorrow and emotional struggle, navigating through the overwhelming weight of grief and loss.

What was the catalyst for starting your business?
The catalyst for founding Beauty for Ashes Ministries Inc. was my own personal journey through adversity. Experiencing profound loss and overcoming challenges ignited within me a deep desire to support and uplift other women facing similar struggles. Witnessing the transformative power of faith and healing in my life fueled my passion to extend that same support and guidance to women seeking solace, purpose, and renewal.
Why is faith as a foundation for your business important?
Faith is the cornerstone of Beauty for Ashes Ministries Inc. because it’s not just a business but an embodiment of my beliefs and calling. As a woman of faith and a licensed minister, my life’s foundation is rooted in God’s guidance and teachings. I firmly believe that incorporating faith into every aspect of this ministry is essential because it’s not merely about offering services; it’s about sharing God’s love, hope, and strength with others. I trust in God’s plan and guidance, acknowledging He orchestrates every step of this journey. Faith provides the bedrock upon which women can find solace, encouragement, and empowerment. Through faith, we can navigate life’s storms, transforming adversity into opportunities for growth and healing.
