The internetwebs are all abuzz because Melania Trump’s, Donald Trump’s current wife, Republican National Convention speech came off as if she had gotten Milli Vanilli themselves to write it for her. It had parts that clearly duplicated Michelle Obama’s address at the 2008 Democratic convention. While First Lady Michelle Obama has been known to inspire women and girls with her pose, character and even her fashion sense, she now has inspired with an 8 year old speech.
Let’s go back…
While many may not have caught the similarities upon first hear, when @JarrettHill first pointed it out on Twitter everyone’s eyebrows went up.

Plagiarism Much?
While Melania claimed on the TODAY Show to have written it with minimal assistance, it would be hard to believe that she duplicated so much text by accident. While the appearance of spouses in general usually garners support by presenting the family behind the candidate, I think it’s safe to say that this snafu didn’t help much in that regard. It just added to a long list of things that are just wrong with this whole “Trump/Pence and Melania and dem” ticket. It did nothing to humanize Trump to viewers while it probably did nothing to those who already support him because clearly if you were on board before after so much nonsense then this little speech hiccup won’t have you laying down your Trump flag anytime soon.

This mishap is one of many for this campaign yet it doesn’t seem to hurt. They will say whatever to cover it (and they already have denied it) and people will keep supporting. Now that’s scary. I’m just waiting for them to blame this on the Black Lives Matter movement. I know it’s coming.
