Faith, Flights & Fearless Ambition: Inside Lakeshia Green’s Multifaceted Journey

From Louisiana roots to global adventures, Lakeshia Green is creating businesses, experiences, and a legacy grounded in faith and intention.

For Lakeshia Green, living with purpose means refusing to place her dreams in just one box. A mother, accomplished career professional, entrepreneur, global traveler, travel advisor, designer, and author, Lakeshia has built a multifaceted life rooted in faith, creativity, growth, and intention. As the founder of LG Essence Designs and LG Essence Travels, the Louisiana native is transforming her passions into meaningful experiences while building a legacy that extends far beyond business. In this conversation, Lakeshia shares the lessons behind her entrepreneurial journey, the influence of travel on her perspective, and what it means to pursue multiple dreams while remaining grounded in who you are and what matters most.

You wear many hats—mother, career professional, entrepreneur, travel advisor, designer, author, and global traveler. How have these different roles shaped the woman you are today, and what have you learned about maintaining your own identity while navigating so many responsibilities and ambitions?

Each role has shaped a different part of me, but together they have made me the woman I am today. Being a mother taught me responsibility and unconditional love. My career taught me discipline and consistency, while entrepreneurship taught me courage, creativity, and the importance of betting on myself. Traveling has expanded my perspective and reminded me that there is so much more to life than what we see every day.

I’ve also learned that being there for everyone else doesn’t mean losing yourself in the process. I have had to learn how to create space for my own dreams, my own peace, and my own growth. I’m still evolving, but I’ve realized that I don’t have to choose just one version of myself. I’m allowed to be all of them.

LG Essence Designs and LG Essence Travels allow you to express two very different sides of your creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. What inspired you to launch each business, and how does the word “Essence” reflect the experience, values, or feeling you want people to associate with your brands?

Both businesses were born from different passions, but they share the same foundation: my essence. LG Essence Designs allows me to express my creativity and turn ideas into something people can actually see, wear, and enjoy. LG Essence Travels came from my love of travel and my desire to help others experience the world in a meaningful way.

“Essence” represents the heart of who I am and what I bring to everything I create. I want people to feel creativity, quality, connection, confidence, and intention when they interact with either brand. For me, it’s not simply about selling a product or planning a trip—it’s about creating an experience that feels personal.

Travel has the ability to change how we see ourselves, other people, and the world around us. As a global traveler and travel advisor, what experiences abroad have had the greatest impact on your personal growth, and how have those experiences influenced the way you help your clients create meaningful journeys of their own?

Travel has taught me to be open-minded, present, and willing to step outside of my comfort zone. Every destination offers an opportunity to experience different cultures, perspectives, food, traditions, and ways of life.

Those experiences have helped me understand that travel is about so much more than getting on a plane and going somewhere. Sometimes, you travel to celebrate. Sometimes, you travel to heal, reconnect, discover yourself, or create memories with people you love. That perspective influences how I work with my clients. I want to understand why they are traveling, not just where they want to go, so I can help create an experience that means something to them.

Entrepreneurship often looks exciting from the outside, but building multiple ventures while maintaining a career and raising a family requires discipline and sacrifice. What have been some of the less glamorous challenges behind your entrepreneurial journey, and how have you learned to keep moving when your vision, confidence, or capacity has been tested?

The less glamorous side is the part people don’t always see—the long days, making difficult decisions, balancing responsibilities, questioning yourself, and sometimes having to keep going when you are simply tired.

I’ve learned that resilience doesn’t mean you never get overwhelmed. It means you learn how to pause, regroup, and continue. There have been seasons when I had to remind myself that slowing down is not the same as giving up. I’ve also learned that I don’t have to have everything figured out before I take the next step. Sometimes faith requires you to move forward before you can see the entire path.

You speak about living and building with faith, purpose, and intention. How has your faith influenced the decisions you make in business and in life, particularly during seasons when the next step was unclear or when what you envisioned for yourself did not happen according to your preferred timeline?

My faith is the foundation of everything I do. I believe that God’s timing is different from our own, and some of the delays, disappointments, and unexpected turns in my life have ultimately redirected me toward something greater.

There have been moments when I wanted answers immediately, but I had to learn to trust God even when I couldn’t see what was ahead. My faith reminds me that my identity is not defined by a setback, a missed opportunity, or a timeline. I often say, “God is my CEO,” because I want my decisions, my businesses, and my life to be guided by purpose rather than pressure.

As a Louisiana native who has gone on to become a global traveler, entrepreneur, and creative professional, what parts of your upbringing continue to travel with you wherever you go? Are there particular values, traditions, lessons, or people from home that have influenced the way you approach family, business, hospitality, and success?

Being from Louisiana is a part of me that I carry everywhere I go. Louisiana taught me the importance of family, community, hospitality, resilience, and making people feel welcome. Those values show up in the way I build relationships and conduct business.

I was raised with the understanding that you don’t forget where you come from simply because you are discovering where you are going. No matter how far I travel or how much I accomplish, home remains part of my foundation. I want my success to reflect not only what I have achieved, but also the values and people who helped shape me along the way.

Legacy can mean much more than financial success or leaving behind a successful business. When you think about the legacy you are creating for your children and the people who encounter your work, what do you ultimately hope they remember about Lakeshia Green, and what do you hope your journey teaches other women who may still be waiting for permission to pursue more than one dream?

I want my legacy to be bigger than a business, a title, or anything I accomplish professionally. I want my daughter and the people who encounter my work to remember me as a woman who lived with purpose, loved deeply, walked by faith, and was never afraid to reinvent herself.

I hope my journey reminds women that they do not need permission to dream bigger. You can be a mother, a career professional, an entrepreneur, a creative, a traveler, an author—and still be completely yourself.

If there is one thing I hope people take from my story, it is this: you don’t have to choose between your dreams. You can build a life that makes room for all of them.
