Coach Tracy Beavers

Before your coaching career, you found yourself always being the problem solver for people in your life. What lit the fire for you to finally work on what had already proven to be a passion?

I have always been a coach; it just took me a long time to realize it. My generation was taught to go to school, go to college, get the 9-5 and stay there for 40 years…. you get a pension, a cake, maybe a gold watch….and you’re retired. It sounded so easy!

I was downsized in 2005 after 15 years in the first career I had ever had. This was my first taste of corporate instability. Fast forward through a banking career, a title insurance career…. a few really toxic bosses….and a CEO that did not understand how to motivate his salesforce…. I decided I had had enough of others running the show on my money. I was fed up with others being in charge of my time. I have always had to be an income earner for our family and missed so many events with our kids. So, I did

what every woman does when she wants to take control of her future and joined a network marketing company…. skincare to be exact. This was my first taste of entrepreneurship and I was pretty successful with it. I learned through the process of building that business that the part I loved the most was helping other women build theirs. This is when I realized that I was a coach at heart. This is when I decided to start my practice as a business/sales coach. This is when the very best part of my working life began.

How did you gain the expertise in learning entrepreneur behaviors when you were new to owning a business? Do you find that concepts with problem-solving outside of business align the same way with business owners?

The best way I learned how to grow my business and be a CEO was by surrounding myself with like-minded people that were doing the same. Watching, learning, asking questions was how I began to evolve. The biggest thing for me was to just jump in the deep end of the pool and start swimming. I hired a few coaches, took a few courses, watched a lot of videos, and read a lot of books. I took the pieces of what I liked and felt authentic to me and molded my business into what it is today.

When it comes to problem-solving, whether business-related or personal, my approach is the same. I take an objective view without emotion. I narrow down the true problem (because sometimes the real problem isn’t what we thought it was). I consider all solutions looking at all angles and get creative. There is always a solution, we just have to keep an open mind and remain objective. The pieces of the puzzle will all fall into place.

You promote confidence for entrepreneurs. Since being an entrepreneur in itself involves risk which hints at some level of confidence – where do you think entrepreneurs lose focus after launch and find themselves struggling to juggle it all, focus or reach the level of success they desire?

Being an entrepreneur is hard…. even if we are seasoned business owners…. it’s a rollercoaster. The most successful entrepreneurs still have days of doubt, overwhelm…. you know…when the wheels fall off the bus.

The struggle starts with CEOs trying to do everything all by themselves, and alone. This is where the overwhelm starts and once the overwhelm starts…. then frustration comes in right behind it and before they know it…. they want to throw in the towel.

The best advice I was given as an entrepreneur was to hire out as much as possible. Hire an assistant sooner than you can afford one. Find a coach and hire them immediately. You can juggle a lot on your own for a little bit…but if you don’t hire help…you will find yourself in reaction mode putting out fires all day….and you will burn out quickly. My clients and I focus on building with ease. We map out their goals, their vision, and I give them clear action steps to work on step by step to get to the goal. I keep them on track by reminding them to keep their blinders on. Their distractions are eliminated and they move forward with confidence.

Having help gives you the time and space to be creative, to think, to breathe. This time is vital to your success. Trust me, I learned this lesson the hard way. Having time and space will also shore up your confidence and resolve because you the energy needed to sustain your mindset. When you are tired, and frazzled, your energy is low….and that’s when those feelings of inadequacy can get into your mind.

What is the most common problem plaguing new clients?

The most common problem I see for both new and seasoned entrepreneurs is a lack of organization and focus. They are spinning all the plates, doing all the things, and not taking the time to slow down and focus. Their time management and workflows are not organized so they find themselves very busy but not very productive. This is why it is so critical to the success of the business for them to hire a coach.

Tell our readers about a coaching success story.

One of my clients is a local massage therapist. She has an excellent reputation and when we met, she had a very small client base. She was not sure if she wanted to do mobile massage, or if she wanted to go back into a physical location. During the pandemic, she was able to service her small client base from her home. She admitted she lacked confidence and wasn’t sure how she was going to grow her business because she is also a wife, Mom, and home schools one of her children. She had a LOT going on in her life while being a business owner.

Working together, we talked about her goals. She decided she definitely wanted to grow her client numbers and find a physical location. Looking at her schedule, I was able to show her how she could easily add more clients alongside juggling her family responsibilities. She didn’t realize that she wasn’t asking her clients to rebook their next appointment at the end of each massage. She didn’t have a client referral program in place to incentivize her clients to refer their friends and family. We put a plan in place to solve both of these, and now she is fully booked for weeks at a time.

We worked through her potential income, her known expenses and we were able to come up with an amount she could afford for rent. She looked at a few spaces, we talked through each location and she found the perfect spot. She is now located in a building with multiple offices from various companies. I was able to guide her on a marketing strategy to advertise in her building and easily fill in more spots in her schedule.

She was not confident with social media, it felt very overwhelming to her. What to post, where to post, what to say….it felt like a lot on top of everything else she had going on. I was able to strategize a social media schedule for her to execute each week, and we are able to boost her confidence enough to go live once a week.

She told me at the end of 2021, her client base had grown over 40% and she was making more money and having more fun than she ever thought. She was juggling the demands of being a working Mom and business owner. She was thrilled, and so was I.

Seeing my clients smile and literally exhale when we begin to map out strategy lights my heart. They realize that they can build their business with ease, and they are so excited.

What can a new client expect to gain from a coaching session with you?

My clients gain confidence, clarity and focus. Building a business doesn’t have to be a struggle. We work together to identify the priorities, the income opportunities, and the real goals for the business. I am alongside them to affirm them, to guide them, and to make sure they stay on track for the success they desire. Let’s build our businesses with ease.
