What to do when prayers don’t work…
Somewhere along the line the three things you were never supposed to talk about (sex, religion and politics) became the landmark conversations in our world.
I focus and talk about spiritual and connecting for a living (it’s not religion but you know where I’m going with this) and my Facebook feed is filled with comments of a political nature.
Healers and leaders all over the world are stunned at what is happening in the hearts and on the soil of the United States. Most of my peer don’t understand why their prayers did not work…
My comment is this…they did, just not the way you thought they would. When we pray, we forget the most important part of our prayers – the intention.
We might want more clients, money or love, but what we are really praying for is a rise in our consciousness, to expand and be bigger.
The point here is that prayers always work. It is understanding that we are attached to the outcome in a particular way that taints our belief around praying.
Begin With Forgiveness and With Acceptance
Often when we pray for something and it doesn’t materialize the way we want, we turn that loss inwards. That loss reinforces all those not enough beliefs within ourselves. It is at that time that we have to activate the forgiveness in our hearts so we can move into acceptance. Let’s be clear about what we are forgiving in ourselves. We are forgiving that we missed the mark, that we believe that we are not enough, that we think we failed, that we are angry at our higher power, and a whole lot more.
I usually work with Divine Intelligence to do the heavy lifting with forgiveness. My statement for forgiveness is, “Divine Intelligence, activate the forgiveness in my heart (and when I felt it). I offer this forgiveness to myself for (fill in the blank).”
With forgiveness comes acceptance. Without acceptance of where you are, you will keep replaying the situation in your head again and again. This will also cause you to react from a place of trying to protect yourself from future pain.
Non-acceptance looks like this. You are in London in front of Big Ben going down into the Tube station and you are insisting that you are in Paris. There is no way you are going to get where you want to go, unless you accept your current location.
Becoming a Master Prayer Writer
Over the last several years, I have become a master prayer writer. I do admit that it is much easier to collaborate with someone to write a prayer for them than it is for myself. The point is to keep tweaking your prayers.
View prayers as a way of focusing your energy and your creative power and realize that you are praying every day.
Each time you say I am…it is a call to action for the Universe. So I suggest individuals use that I AM statement from a place of power and abundance.
You don’t need to be perfect. You just get to tilt the scales. Imagine for a moment that you are giving way to the intangible in your life to turn it into solid form. Are you going to affirm that you are not enough or are you going to affirm that you are enough?
This is a practice and it takes time. So start your road to being a master prayer writer with one prayer statement:
I AM (what you most desire in life)
I AM love
I AM abundant
I AM powerful
I AM safe
Notice throughout your daily experience when you are vetoing that powerful I AM statement with a thought or an expression that is in conflict with it and just pause and repeat your power statement three times.
Bring More Neutrality to Your Experiences
When you accept that the world is happening through you and not to you, your life will transform. We often try to put our experiences in a box, good/bad, right/wrong, etc.
My challenge to you is to begin to understand that your experiences are just that an experience. They are not a reflection of you being enough. I suggest you begin to activate more trust in your life and with the energy of trust comes the consciousness of neutrality. When we are in neutrality, we begin to be in the energy of the solution and we are the prayer itself.
