Kim Kirmmse Toth, LCSW, CMC, PCC is a small business coach who specializes in working with women after 50 who are looking to excel in their coaching business or embark on a new career as a coach and expand their imprint on the world. With over 20 years’ experience, Kim helps to create a roadmap to success to guide clients to their ideal business and lives.
Why women over 50? I myself am 64 now. I believe it’s very important as older women that we are able to be independent and self-sufficient when it comes to our financial futures. As baby boomers we have a great deal to offer and want to share our wisdom. Why not monetize it? As I always say ‘men are not a retirement plan’. I am divorced and a recent widow. And there are a lot of women like me out there, on their own, needing to be financially safe now and in the future.
What are the usual reasons when your ideal clients are seeking your services?
A. they want out of their job/job and want to work for themselves
B. they want the additional
income
C. they want to give back.
What is your greatest joy from coaching others to their goals? I love seeing women doing the
work they want to be doing, to see them shine, to earn money doing what they love and
sharing their gifts with others. The feeling of independence and earning money is very
important at any age but as older women, we/they have earned it!! I absolutely adore and
admire the women I work with.
In general, how do you handle someone who is not coachable? What groundwork does
someone need to do to determine if they are ready to put in the work? I have only had to
‘fire’ one client ever, because she wasn’t coachable. She never followed through on anything and was a whiner. I don’t work with whiners! I always talk at least one time to every woman who joins our community in the Moxie Mentorship Program. I work with women who are creative, high energy, optimistic, community minded and willing to put in the work it takes to start and run your own business. And they are smart. Every single one of them.
What is the most instrumental lesson learned over the 20 years in your own career that you
carry into each new coach/client relationship? As a ‘recovered’ therapist it comes down to the
fact that people want to grow, want to be the best they can be, want to be happy and
productive. They want to give back and do good work.
Anything to add? Over the last couple of years, I have really simplified my business. I offer my Moxie Mentorship Program to all. It is comprised of 4 tiers so available to almost anyone. There are 4 different investment levels, the higher the level the more private time they have with me. It’s a wonderful community of women!! Visit at www.moxiementorshipprogram.com.
