Pursuing Your Passion

Pursuing Your Passion

In today’s society, many people are now turning to entrepreneurship or trying to figure out how to become an entrepreneur. People are constantly going to work miserable, just trying to “make it” through another work day. Marriages are being torn apart, children are not doing their best in school, and we are losing our children to the streets because mommy and daddy are out working to make ends meet unhappily.

With the rise of gas, food and the cost of living, how is anyone really going to make a decent living with worrying if they are going to run out of “month” before they run out of “money”. Living paycheck to paycheck is tough these days and people are beginning to find themselves miserable. Will any of this change? Some ask. Many cannot see anything greater for their future while most can’t figure out where to start.

For many years, I didn’t know what to do with my life. I tried to figure it out because I just wanted to be a house wife. My dreams were to be home and take care of husband and children. I felt I was made to be the “Perfect” wife!

Unfortunately, my dreams were shattered due to an abusive marriage that made me feel like I was unworthy to even be a good enough mom for my children. I was called everything but a child of God in my household. Due to this mental abuse, not to mention the physical and emotional abuse, I lost myself. I felt useless to the world.

Once I became an officially FREE {divorced} woman, I became depressed because after 12 years of marriage, although it was not a good one I was used to being a wife. Being a Realtor, I allowed my business to go down the tubes because I felt worthless. For a man to treat me as if I was nothing, why would someone want to work with a useless woman as myself? Times were very hard and I couldn’t keep my head above water.

As time went by, I began to change my thinking. One day my aunt told me to look in the mirror every day and tell myself I was beautiful. I couldn’t see the beauty within me so I had to convince myself otherwise. Once I began to see my beauty, I realized that it wasn’t me with the issue, but my abuser. The one that I felt was the love of my life, I couldn’t see myself without. I realized he took away my self-esteem however, it was time for me to take that back along with my life and I did just that.

October 24, 2011 my 34th birthday I vowed that I would make something of myself. I went into my real estate office with no business and worked until my business began to pick up. Later I found myself going to a seminar about how to share my story with the world to become a speaker! That was one of the most liberating days of my life. I began opening up about the abuse and found it as therapy.

As time went on, I found myself sharing my story with others and was able to help others in relationships. In 2013 I began an online talk show called “Pursuing Your Passion” where I am able to help others go after their goals and dreams despite the obstacles. There is nothing in life that can hold a person back from their goals and dreams but them.

Currently, I am launching a radio show that will feature my guest from the show to help motivated others to go after their goals and dreams. Everyone has a story to tell and it’s time for people to speak. It’s time for people to change lives. Entrepreneurship was not giving to everyone because we still need jobs to be fulfilled. Being blessed to have the gifts and talents that I have, I’m able to help changed the lives of many people through my online talk show, radio station as well as consulting others to help push their dreams and make them reality.

We need to stop using our situations as a crutch; however, we need to use it as leverage to get us to the top! Too often I hear people say how they have been through something or someone won’t listen, but they never give a person to chance to hear what they have to say. In your situation there lies your purpose. You go through test and trials to help push you closer to your purpose.

At what point are you going to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH and stand up and face the giants that are set before you? It’s time to show the world your gifts and talents. You are not exempt from making a difference in the world! Understand your purpose and pursue your passion!
